Oculuss software is also way more polished and I'm at a point where my time is precious and I don't want to waste time troubleshooting. I'm always going to go for bang for buck when the difference in price is as great as it is. None of these are willing to subsidize or put nearly as much money into vr as Facebook is. What are our choices in companies now - HTC, valve, hp. For me, that argument doesn't really apply. The argument against doing what I do (besides the fck Facebook crowd) is what if you switch brands. If much cheaper on one store and doesn't have crossbuy, I get whichever is cheaper. The rest isn't often but why pay more for even slightly more hassles and really no additional benefit that I care about. The freezing dash thing actually happens a fair amount of time. And trouble shooting is double the work as I not only have search through oculus app which always has to be on no matter which store you buy from, but steam as well to see where the problem is. I also sometimes double supersample with them. I've notice steam games sometimes freeze when I try to reopen through my oculus dash. If same price but only pcvr, I buy oculus rift store. Why would you ever pay the same price for less by buying steam when you can get both the native quest version and the pcvr version by buying oculus store.
